IVIG for Aplastic Anemia – pro

Aplastic Anemia is considered to be among the diseases for which the Plan considers IVIG to experimental. Unfortunately there is very little supporting literature. A 2007 review found 7 reported cases, all of which responded to IVIG, but upon a closer look the review authors found that only 2 of the cases met criteria for true Aplastic Anemia. A 2007 guideliens (Anderson et al) concluded that : “There is no evidence to support the use of IVIG in aplastic anemia”.
