Venous stenting for venous obstruction – pro
Venous stents are being increasingly used as an effective tool during percutaneous endovenous intervention (PEVI). The major indication for PEVI has been venous stenosis and external compression, which often leads to deep venous thrombosis (DVT). This is a technique that is only recently coming into wider use but there is significant literature support for its effectiveness. Visualization of patency is required for this procedure and MRI/MRV would supply such an evaluation..
