Bioimpedance spectroscopy for lymphedema – pro

It is a tool that measures fluid impedance in breast tissue asĀ  amasn to validating and quantifying the extent and risk for lypmhehdema. The recent review by Mosely concluded thatĀ  bioimpedance is an accurate diagnostic tool for pre-existent lymphedema, however, it has not been validated for early detection. There are no guidelines that recommend it routinely and studies of it are are still ongoing. It is being studies in a Study the Usefulness of Bio-impedance Spectroscopy in the Early Assessment of Breast Cancer Related Lymphoedema, NCT01599039.
