Adjuvant chemotherapy after resection of liver metastases of colorectal cancer – pro

Hepatic resection for colorectal liver metastasis remains the only treatment that has curative potential. In half of the patients with recurrences after hepatectomy for liver metastasis, the first site of recurrence is the remnant liver. Furthermore, most patients with recurrence develop metastases. Despite the fact, that adjuvant chemotherapy has been proven very successful in primary colorectal cancer, there is only recent and preliminary evidence of a benefit after liver surgery. Literature is not in consensus and most of the published work is on intra-arterial opot resection chemotherapy. I did not find any reports of Xelox in this situation.
