Gastrointestinal Pathogens Panel – pro

The criteria for using this test remain controversial and have been the subject of much discussion. Some identified pathogens do not cause disease, we do not know how to treat others, and clinical benefit of treatment base don this test is not known. Furthermore,  both carcinoid and carcinomatosis cause diarrhea, which can make the positive test become false-positive.
