Botox in Head and Neck surgery – pro

Head and neck cancer and its treatment can result in a variety of neuromuscular and musculoskeletal pain and functional sequelae. Commonly seen conditions in patients with the disease include neck pain and spasm, hemifacial spasm, trismus, dysphonia, dysarthria, neuropathic pain, and salivary disorders, such as first bite syndrome, which can sometimes occur after surgery. Only a few studies are currently available to test the safety and efficacy of botulinum toxin injection in patients with head and neck cancer, but much research is ongoing
