Oncomap panels – pro
Oncomap is a panel of 257 genes and 12 fusion variants accompanied by 25 IHC markers. Literature confirms that this test can pick up 57 additional mutations in KRAS exons 2 and 32 as compared to Snaer sequencing. (for cetuximab use). it offers a deeper analysis of the core and periphery of tumor foci enabling the identification of specific gene expression patterns associated with these morphologically relevant regions. However, I could tno find compelling evidence that it contributes something more than OncotypeDx or other similar panels, and medical necessity is not yet established for the proposed OncoMap testing CPT 0244U.
